History & Legacy at Morgan
The Joseph and Camilla Parham Tennis Scholarship at Morgan State University provides financial support to student-athletes on the Morgan tennis team, with additional preference for students studying a foreign language. Established in honor of Joseph Parham—a pioneering tennis player who helped integrate Baltimore’s tennis courts and dedicated his career to teaching languages—the scholarship helps continue his legacy by supporting deserving Morgan State scholars.
Eligibility Criteria
The Parham Scholar Prize will be awarded to a Morgan State University student who has a demonstrated record of:
Academic excellence
Bridging cultural divides
May have studied a foreign language
Effective leadership
Fostering mutual understanding
